Absinthe Saucer Style: Red and Silver Trim Coaster
Size: 5 Inches in Diameter
Product Description:
This is a reproduction of the bistro absinthe saucers (sous-verre) used in France during the peak of absinthe’s popularity. In a bistro, the saucers were used to keep track of the customer’s bill. Each time a serving of absinthe was brought to the table, it was presented on a new saucer. The saucers would mount up on the table and when it came time to pay, the server would count the saucers and hand the customer the bill. Some saucers even had the serving cost printed right in the center.
