Description:
The Torsade glass is a classic absinthe glass and part of La Rochere's Musee de l'Absinthe collection. The design of this glass mirrors absinthe glasses that were used in Paris cafes during the early 1900's.  It boasts an swirl design that perhaps is a nod to louche of the absinthe as it is mixed with cold water.

Crafted by La Rochere, this glass will not only prove to be a stand out in your glassware collection but also a durable and high quality absinthe glass.

About La Rochere:
The La Rochere Artistic Glassworks was founded in 1475 by Simon de Thysac and has perpetuated for over five centuries.   Situated at the border between the French Lorraine, Haute-Saone and Vosges regions, La Rochere is one the last strongholds of the French glassmaking tradition.

About Absinthe:
We only sell absinthe glasses, fountains and spoons. We do not sell bottles of absinthe.

Support real absinthe producers and help spread the truth about absinthe.

Absinthe Facts:

1. Absinthe is not a drug. Absinthe will not make you hallucinate or high.
2. Absinthe will not make you go crazy.
2. Fire has no part in the absinthe ritual.  Lighting absinthe on fire is a modern marketing ploy used sell foul tasting “absinth.”
3. Real absinthe is not overly bitter.  It is, however, smooth, refreshing and tastes delicious.
4. Much of the so-called absinthe produced in the Czech Republic and Germany is not real absinthe and should be avoided.  If it boasts a high thujone content - don't buy it.
5. The best absinthe comes from France, Switzerland and Spain.
6. There was no valid scientific reason why Absinthe was banned in the USA.
7. You can not make absinthe from an extract kit or by merely soaking herbs in spirits.  Do not waste your money on products or kits that make claim.
8. Absinthe is not all about wormwood or thujone.  Wormwood is just one of the principle ingredients.   If it's thujone you're after, eat some sage. There is a higher concentration of thujone in common sage than in grand wormwood.
9.  Absinthe is good for you.  Absinthe contains many herbs that have long been renowned for their homeopathic qualities.
10.  Absinthe is delicious and best enjoyed, like all other alcoholic beverages, in moderation.

A relatively heavy pressed glass, rather attractive in fact. While it can be used for Absinthe, it really is more a pastis glass to my mind and that's what i've been using it for.

Torsade Absinthe Glasses April 15, 2011
Reviewer: Bill D. from San Jose , CA United States
Dear Devil, They are great.  i'm replacing some of my damaged antique Torsade glasses with the new ones. In comparison the old ones are of better quality but, the new ones match quite well and am happy with the replacements.  Thank you again!
