Size: 6.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide at base. This brouilleur will accommodate any absinthe glass with a lip diameter of up to 3.25 inches.
Product Description:
This is an authentic reproduction of a two-level absinthe brouilleur from the 1840's. The brouilleur sits on top of an absinthe glass and is used to slowly mix ice water and sugar with absinthe. This brouilleur works great with our Pontarlier Reservoir and Pontarlier glasses. This rare brouilleur have a lower level than can accomodate a sugar cube. Absinthe glass and sugar not included.
How to use this two-stage absinthe brouilleur:
1. Add the proper amount of absinthe to an absinthe glass.
2. Place the his brouilleur on the top of the glass.
3. Place a sugar cube in the lower level of the brouilleur.
4. Pour ice water into the upper reservoir of the brouilleur.
5. The water will then cascade over the sugar cube and slowly dissolve it. The sugared water will mix with the absinthe below creating a louche.
6. Once all the water have emptied in the absinthe glasses, remove the brouilleur and enjoy.
Note: The amount of water added to the absinthe is dependent upon your personal taste. Most absinthes taste create a ratio of 1:3 or 1:5 (absinthe to water).
