Gold Cognac Pipe or Cognac Pfeife

This elegant cognac pipe holds 4 ounces of cognac.  There is a gold band around the rim of the bowl and the base.  Hand made using mouth blown glass. 4-1/2 Inches tall.  Made in the Czech Republic

Cognac pipes are sometimes marketed at an absinthe accessory.    Cognac pipes don’t have any historical connection to absinthe and it is unlikely that absinthe drinkers in pre-ban times would use such a device to drink absinthe.  It is downright impractical to enjoy absinthe in a cognac pipe.  The shape of the glass would allow the absinthe to be warmed as the glass is held.  Absinthe is best enjoyed cold.
