Cognac Pipes or Pfeife
Cognac pipes or Pfeife originated in France during the 1700’s. French nobility would enjoy fine cognac this pipe made from gold and silver. The pipe shape for the glass was used because the cognac can be warmed gently as the glass is held by the drinker. The goal was to enjoy the cognac at body temperature. The pipe shape allows the cognac to be proper warmed without the loss to evaporation.
Why a Cognac Pipe?
Cognac pipes are hard to find these days. Our store carries them after locating a source in Europe that produces each cognac pipe by hand. Talented artisans create the pipes from premium quality glass and mouth-blow each traditional design. Cognac pipes are a must have for anyone that enjoys fine cognac. The pipe allows for a unique experience that can help one to savior the nuances and aromas that a fine bottle of cognac can provide.

Cognac is type of brandy produced from grapes grown in or around Cognac, France.
As a type of brandy, cognac is made from eaux-de-vie created by rectifying white wine. The final product is typically diluted to 40% ABV. French Law mandates what can and cannot be called cognac. In order to be considered cognac, it must meet to following requirements:

VSPO: This stands fro Very Special Old Pale and is granted to a brandy aged in oak barrels for a minimum of four years.
